For the first time, the Telangana assembly witnessing intense debates on various issues during winter session without much obstacles. Only on the second day except leader of opposition K Jana Reddy, all members of Congress and TDP were suspended for the day, within few minutes of beginning the proceedings of the house.
However, later it seems both the treasure benches and opposition members showed much interest to continue debates without resorting to disturbing the house. Though sometimes the opposition members makes severe allegations against the government, ministers too responded in a fiery way. But never crossed a limit.
For the first time, today the ruling party showed much restraint by revoking the suspension against three members, responding to the request made by Jana Reddy. In the past, never such generosity was seen from the TRS members.
The Assembly session against today witnessed an uproar with the Congress and TDP members disrupting the proceedings of the Question Hour. While the party members demanded a discussion on SC categorisation, Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary appealed for them to resume their seats.
Despite the appeal, Congress member Sampath Kumar, TDP members Revanth Reddy and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah continued their protests near Speaker’s podium. Following the uproar, Telangana Legislative Affairs Minister Harish Rao moved the suspension motion against the party members and the Speaker passed the motion suspending them till the end of the complete session.
However, later responding to the request made by Jana Reddy, against Harish Rao moved a resolution withdrawing suspensions. Opposition members were practically surprised over liberal attitude shown by the government without resorting to `victimisation’ stand. Earlier, in such occasion, opposition members were suspended for days together.
