At a time, Telugu Desam Party’s supremo Chandrababu Naidu is making aggressive moves to dent YSRCP’s domination in its chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s native district Kadapa, the opposition leaders are making strategic moves to keep up their hold over the district. Former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s brother and former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy, who is contesting in MLC elections from local bodies’ constituency, has been meeting several senior leaders, who are keeping away to both TDP and YSRCP.
In this connection, long time arch rival to YS family and former minister Dr D L Ravindra Reddy has reportedly showing interest to join YSRCP. In 2011 by-elections to Kadapa Lok Sabha, as a minister he had contested against YS Jaganmohan Reddy, giving a tough fight. Now speculations are raising on his possible entry into YSRCP.
Many surprised to find YSRCP posters and banners in his Maidakur constituency of the district showing photo of Ravindra Reddy, along with YS Rajasekhara Reddy, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, local YSRCP MLA Raghurami Reddy, YS Vivekananda Reddy and other party leaders.
Already Vivekananda Reddy went to his house several times seeking his support in the MLC polls. He has assured him his full support. This has naturally created euphoria in the constituency among the followers of Ravindra Reddy and YSRCP supporters.
Indicating his re-entry into active politics, conveying Sankranthi greetings, they have reportedly placed these banners in many villages too. A year ago he announced his decision to quit Congress and also indicated his intention to join TDP. However, it seems he didn’t felt comfortable with TDP leadership and keeping away from active politics.
