Hyderabad: Former minister and senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao has made interesting comment on Khammam district, while cautioning voters not to vote for opposition parties.
“I wanted to make Paler constituency as number one in progress in the state. But, Khammam district voted for Congress, when entire state voted for TRS. This hurts me more than anything in my 35 years of political career. All the votes polled for Congress in Khammam gone waste. Those who voted for Congress are now regretting. Even dogs don’t care you if the same thing repeated in the Lok Sabha elections.
Tummala held roads and buildings (R&B) portfolio during the first term of the TRS government in Telangana, but he lost in Assembly elections held in December 2018 to Kandala Upender Reddy of Congress under Mahakutami banner in Paler Assembly constituency.
Tummala further added that entire country is looking towards welfare schemes of KCR, but Khammam district is going in opposite direction. I advise people of Khammam district to realise about what’s happening in the country and Telangana. Please don’t repeat the Assembly pattern in Lok Sabha elections. I wanted to become a part of the economy development of the Telangana state. That’s why I have joined TRS party.
Tummala during his term, worked hard for completing Bhakta Ramadasu Lift Irrigation project in a record time of 11 months. The project ensures supplying water to around 60,000 acres of land in the Paler constituency, which was a drought-hit area for a long time.
