Former Minister and senior leader Dr J Geetha Reddy received Rajiv Sadhbavana Award. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the award to J Geetha Reddy couple at Rajiv Sadhbavana meeting held at Charminar in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Rajiv Sadhbavana Award is presented to illustrious personalities who have achieved excellence in public life and promoted peace and integrity.
“I appreciate Rajiv Sadhbavana Committee members for choosing Geetha Reddy for the Award. She is the perfect choice for the Award. She dedicated all her life for the cause of poor people and followed Gandhian ideals,” said Revanth Reddy speaking on the occasion.
“Normally we see politicians who fight for power and posts. But Geetha Reddy has surprised me during 2023 Assembly elections. When I had visited her, she herself suggested to choose a right candidate for Zaheerabad Assembly constituency, as she could not allocate sufficient time due to personal reasons. That shows her attitude of keeping party’s interests above personal interests and public cause above personal ambition. Similarly she has strived all her life for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden selflessly,” further said CM Revanth Reddy, heaping praise on Geetha Reddy.
The 78-year-old Geetha Reddy is one of the prominent leaders in Telangana Congress. A staunch Gandhi family loyalist, she had served as Minister handling Major Industries, Tourism, Culture, Education and other Ministries in the past.
