The Telangana police department has readied for the organization of assembly polls and it is utilizing sophisticated technology to ensure law and order. The department has already identified sensitive and hypersensitive polling stations and taking measurements in deploying additional forces apart from establishing pickets and check-posts.
Officials said that they are bringing all the 32,500 polling stations under Geo-tagging to monitor minute-to-minute situation on the polling day. “For the first time, we utilized this technology during the recent Ganesh Navaratri. Following getting success in Ganesh Navaratri, we are utilizing the same technology for polling stations,” they said.
They further added that the Superintendents of Police of all the districts have already identified sensitive and hyper sensitive polling stations based on the 2014 general elections’ experience. “We are binding over trouble makers and detaining habitual offenders under the Prevention of Detention Act,” they said.
The department also utilizes 11,500 new vehicles for Bandhobust and preparing plans to deploy as many as 1 lakh police personnel at all the assembly segments.
