As soon as Telnagana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced his plan of action to move towards `cashless economy’, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) took lead by announcing itself as introducing the process from the next month, comes in two days.
City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy today unveiled their initiative process. Already, GHMC has initiative the process partially since last few years making Meeseva/AP Online centers as its nerve centers for online activities. As of now, only 12% of the people are making payments through online mode. But now the GHMC aims to achieve 100% cashless transactions.
Now, GHMC is making special arrangements for the payments of Property Tax, Trade License and other fees pertaining to various civic related issues. People can make cashless payments through GHMC Official Website http://www.ghmc.gov.in/ using Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card or through MyGHMC Mobile App. Payments can also be made through hand held devices available with the GHMC Bill Collectors.
GHMC also receives payments through cheque/D.D. Citizens can approach respective Circle offices/Head Office for the payment of dues or visit the Meeseva/AP Online centers. Through RTGS/NEFT citizens can transfer funds in the favour of commissioner GHMC(A/C no. 52082155599).
GHMC has decided to impart special training to its IT department staff with regard to cashless transactions and directions have been given to all the Zonal Commissioners and Divisional Commissioners to take up such training for all the Revenue officials and 350 odd Bill Collectors.
The GHMC is also planning to provide swiping machines to all the Revenue officials to take up cashless transactions in the coming days. The matter will also be discussed in the Standing Committee said the Commissioner. The GHMC is also providing swiping machines in all the Citizen Service Centres.
