Anantapur Telugu Desam MP JC Diwakar Reddy has said chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had bright chances of becoming Prime Minister of India.
Diwakar Reddy, one of the most successful politicians in the state, who has an unbeatable winning track record, is not known to praise anybody. This quality comes from his political backdrop of his previous assembly constituency Tadpatri where no comparable leader emerged in past 40 years to challenge his hegemony. In spite of rivalry, YS Rajasekhar Reddy took him into cabinet in his first term. With all senior leader gone, he has become uncrowned king of Anantapur district. Still, Naidu doesn’t appear to be giving importance to JC and his MLA brother Prabhakar Reddy.
Still, of late JC started praising Naidu. Now he has gone to the extent of saying Naidu may become Prime Minister after 2019 elections. ” If all goes well, there won’t be any surprise if Naidu becomes Prime Minister in 2019. In future regional party will hold sway at centre,” JC said in Tirupati. He further said nobody would be left in Opposition YSR Congress. ” The opposition party has become a reservoir that suffered a breach. Once a breach is cause, water won’t remain” he said. The logic is that Naidu would be winning all most all the MP seats in Andhra Pradesh and emerge as a largest party. In the coalition politics, anything can happen.
Why suddenly, JC has chosen to sing paeans to Chandrababu Naidu?
It is learnt that JC is attempting to curry favor with his boss. The talk among the TDP circles is that he is aspiring to become union minister in case Naidu declines to renominate Sujana Chowdary to Rajya Sabha. As the senior most politician he wants a berth in the cabinet and it would also help wean away hardcore Reddys from Jagan. According to sources in the party, Reddy is said to have requested Naidu to make him union minister for this term as he wants to retire from politics from 2019 in favor his son. It is not known , what was the reaction of Chandrababu Naidu. Apart from JC, two other MPs, Garikipati Rammohan Rao and R S Rao are also said to be in the race for the berth in the union council of ministers.
