Andhra Pradesh government today paid 4th and the last instalment for the Rs 5. 05 crore luxury bullet proof bus, which has not hit the road so far, to the Chandigarh company, that supplied the bus.
As per the condition, the last and the fourth instalment has to be paid if the government is satisfied with operation of the bullet proof bus. Even though the bus has been seen by anybody in the state except the garage workers APSRTC Vijayawada depot, VC &MD APSRTC, Hyderabad has informed that the last instalment could be reimbursed since the Bullet Proof vehicle had been delivered by M/s JCBL, Chandigarh on 04.08.2015 to the Corporation and was being operated for the official use of Hon’ble C.M., Government of Andhra Pradesh with satisfactory performance. Consequently ,the government on Saturday cleared the instalment of Rs Rs,1,26,25,000/- for M/s. JCBL, Chandigarh.
Even though the bus has been delivered in August 2015, the CM has not used the bus once so far. The state government has acquired the bullet proof bus with an estimated cost of Rs5.05 crore for the use of chief minister during his visit to the districts and remote villages on official programs.
But chief minister has been travelling either by special flight or helicopter. Since there are airports in every region, the CM uses the special aircraft to reach nearest airport and later hops to the venue in helicopter. There has been no occasion for the chief minister to use the bus which lying unused in Vijayawada RTC depot. The RTC technician remove the bus out of the garage to clean and wash without fail everyday.
