Hyderabad: Gowru Venkata Reddy, senior leader from Kurnool, and his wife and Panyam MLA Gowru Charita Reddy are set to join Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on March 9. After reclassification of Panyam constituency, people elected, in two elections, Katasani Rambhupal Reddy one time and Gowru Charita one time, said Gouru Venkata Reddy.
“We’ll join TDP in the presence of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on March 9. We have been holding discussions with party cadre in the Panyam constituency on ground level to know the problems being faced by the people. Gouru Charita and Katasani Rambhupal Reddy won from this constituency and people will take decision after reviewing the performance of the both. We’re confident that people are with us only,” said Gowru Venkata Reddy.
Gowru couple along with supporters will joint TDP at Amaravati on Saturday. Gowru family has resolved several problems in the constituency during the past five years. “We’ll also bring the problem of Velagamanu feeder to the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and get it resolved.
Along with Gowru couple, former MPTC Pedda Narayana Reddy, local leaders such as Jayanna and Rangaswamy Naik will be joining TDP.”
Gowru Charitha Reddy won from the Panyam constituency in 2014 elections on YSRCP ticket and earlier she served as a Congress MLA from Nandikotkur constituency during 2004-2009. She joined YSRCP from Congress party and was also a member of Women and Child welfare committee of AP Legislative Assembly. Gouru Charita Reddy won against senior leaders like Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy and Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, a five time MLA.
