Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay turned Ashoknagar and surrounding areas into a war zone on Saturday, as he led students protest for rescheduling of Group I examination. As police have been trying to suppress students protests, firebrand Bandi Sanjay threw his weight behind Group I aspirants.
“It is extremely unfortunate that Congress Government is trying to suppress the rightful demand of Group I aspirants for rescheduling of examination. The GO 29 brought in by Revanth Reddy Sarkar is against the interests of Group I aspirants, who have been preparing for years making several sacrifices. But instead of listening to Group I aspirants concerns, Government is adamantly moving ahead to conduct examination,” complained Bandi Sanjay speaking to media at Ashoknagar.
As Group I aspirants sought Bandi Sanjay’s support, the Union Minister arrived at Ashoknagar to lend his support to agitating youth.
“It is atrocious that Government has been turning a blind eye to Group I aspirants. What’s even more inhuman is, police are unleashing terror on agitating students. Even girl students are being violently beaten up and abused by police. I will not let police atrocities continue against students,” thundered Bandi Sanjay addressing the agitating youth.
While the Group I aspirants have been protesting for the past three days in Ashoknagar, with Bandi Sanjay’s arrival, the protests reached peak, putting pressure on Government.
Bandi Sanjay gave a ‘Chalo Secretariat’ call and led a rally of students from Ashoknagar to Secretariat. As the students protest led by Bandi Sanjay seems to be turning into a major agitation, police tool Bandi Sanjay into preventive custody.
