Victory Venkatesh’s upcoming film Guru, an official remake of Hindi – Tamil bilingual Saala Khadoos, which is supposed to hit the screens on January 26, has been postponed to a further date. Though the shooting has been wrapped up in December last year, the delay in the post production activities has deferred the film’s release. The sports drama, a Sudha Kongara directional, is likely to release in the last week of February.
With Guru postponed, Suriya’s Singam 3 will have a clear advantage at the box office as no other big ticket film is slated for release during that week. The Republic day holiday and the long weekend will have a huge impact on the collections if Singam 3 manages to garner decent talk. As the first two installments turned out to be big hits, the follow-up in the Singam series is carrying huge expectations among the trade circles. Reportedly, the film has done a stunning pre release business in Telugu.
Directed by Hari, the film features Anushka and Shruthi Haasan as the female leads.
