After losing Telangana assembly elections in 2018, many Telangana Congress leaders started attributing the reason for this failure to the alliances. Earlier, Congress leaders like Gandra, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Sarve Sathyanarayana responded on the failure of Congress party in the elections. Now another prominent Congress leader Komati Reddy rajagopal Reddy responded on the defeat and he also put the blame on alliance.
However, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy didn’t put the blame directly on Chandrababu Naidu or leaders of other political parties, but he told that the delay caused in announcing the candidates because of this alliance impacted a lot. He also stated that, Congress party gave seats to the allies even though they didn’t have strong candidates. Rajagopal Reddy also gave a hypothetical statement that, if PCC chief post had been given to him he would have won 100 seats in the state.
It looks like Congress leaders want to put the blame on their allies and divert people’s attention from the mistakes of their own party. We have to wait and see how the Congress party will perform in upcoming Panchayat elections and Lok Sabha elections without such alliances.
