All Telangana ministers, except those who crossed floors to become ministers from other parties , are a different breed. They have introduced non-khadi culture to Telangana politics. Having come from 15 year-long agitation, the ministers do not hesitate to go back to their roots if necessary. There is a clear distinction between those who come from other parties and the original TRS ministers. Despite the routine politicking, TRS ministers certainly display some positive qualities, which are going to create a lasting impression on the people of the state, especially on the students and youth in the age group of 15 -20. Because this is the generation born around 2001, when Telangana movement was taking shape. By the time, this generation started watching the happenings in the state, there was only TRS in the political field.
Congress and TDP were hated. What they were fed was the Telangana pride, culture and politics. chief minister KCR and IT minister KTR and Irrigation minister T Harishrao appears to be targeting this brand new generation of Telangana. Winning their hearts would help the party remain in power for long.
Last night T Harish Rao took a night-halt at a project site in Mahabubnagar district. Along with cabinet colleague Lakshma Reddy, Planning Commission Vice Chairman Niranjan Reddy , MLAs Srinivas Goud Rajendra Nath and Venkateswar Reddy, he stayed at the Kalwakurthy second phase Lift Irrigation Project site for the night and slept on the floor. Harish Rao’s was visiting district for two days to review the progress of these projects. What message this sends across to the new generation, who are going to avail their voting right for first time in 2019?
Harish Rao, who played key role in the management of TRS affairs during the movement days, is known for his hard work and sincerity, and he is equally adept at political management. On Saturday morning , Harish visited some more project sites before attending many developmental programs in Nagar Kurnool, which includes construction of mini tank bund, laying foundation stone for local market yard etc. Many independent observers vouchsafe to the fact that some change for better is happening in rural Telangana, especially in the areas of restoration of tanks. The credit definitely goes to Harish.
