High Court upheld the offer by Andhra Pradesh state government to hand over the “Sadavarti Satram” lands in Chennai to those who come forward to pay Rs 5 crore in addition to the bid amount of Rs 22.44 crore during hearing. It said that it will issue orders in the favour of petitioner YSRCP MLA A Rama Krishna Reddy, if he is ready to pay 5crore rupees. Court clarified that if they bring any other buyer, the orders will be issued accordingly.
However, petitioner’s advocate Sudhakar Reddy requested additional time to revert back on the request. Consequently, the next hearing is scheduled to be held on July3.
A Division bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and T Rajini issued orders on Thursday asking the AP government to provide details on the irregularities in the trust’s lands.
It may be recalled that about 83.11 acres of land was auctioned for Rs 22.44 crore. The lands spread in 86 acres are close to the Chennai IT corridor. YSRCP last year alleged large-scale indiscretions in the auctioning of the trust lands for throw away prices to aides of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
