The Andhra Pradesh high court on Tuesday postponed the hearing of anticipatory bail petition of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Amaravati inner ring road alignment case. As the case came up for hearing on the day, the advocates representing the APCID requested the court to defer the case.
Accepting the request, the court posted the case for next hearing on November 23.
It was alleged that Chandrababu Naidu as chief minister had changed the alignment of the inner ring road to benefit industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh and the Heritage Industries. Though the inner ring road was initially planned to cover the lands belonging to Ramesh and Heritage, it was changed later.
The new inner ring road passes through the lands adjacent to the lands owned by Lingamaneni Ramesh and Heritage Foods.
Besides Chandrababu Naidu, the CID also filed cases against then Minister P Narayana, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh and others in the case.
The high court also heard the case of abusing the judges in the Chandrababu Naidu case. The court directed the registry to issue notices to the respondents in the case and posted it for the second week of November.
It was alleged that some activists of the TDP have made corruption charges and allegations against the high court judges for not granting bail to Chandrababu Naidu. It was alleged that the judges have become corrupt and hence Chandrababu Naidu was sent to Jail. The CID had filed cases against some people for their posts in social media.
