Hero Telugu Movie Review 2022
Hero Telugu Movie Review 2022
Mahesh Babu’s nephew and Guntur MP Jayadev Galla’s son Ashok Galla’s debut film ‘Hero’ being directed by Sriram Adittya and produced by Padmavathi Galla under Amara Raja Media & Entertainment banner is all set for grand release worldwide for this Sankranthi on January 15th. Here is our review :
Story :
Arjun (Ashok Galla) is a middle-class youth aspiring to be a cinema hero. Subbu (Nidhi) and her father Jagapathi Babu are his next-door neighbors. Arjun mistakenly receives a gun via courier. His attempts to trace it back brings in crosshairs with Mumbai mafia. Rest of the movie is the cat and mouse games between Arjun and the Mumbai mafia – with Jagapathi Babu’s backstory added in as twist.
Analysis :
HERO’s first half is decent enough with fast paced screenplay and attempts at slapstick comedy. The second half has a simple point dragged all the way to the climax. The only relief is Brahmaji’s role as a senior cinema hero. The director character in the climax reminds us of Boyapati Srinu.
With cinema being the backdrop for this film, there are ample references to all top heroes especially Superstar Krishna and Mahesh Babu.
Rather than choosing a love story or a mass flick to launch the hero, the team opted for a well beaten comedy genre. Debutante hero Ashok Galla is okay as Arjun, this role doesn’t demand much performance and goes easy on him. Director Sriram Adittya tried to delivery a racy comedy film which is at best confusing. One simple point is not enough to spin a movie plot and the end results show that. Background music is a mess, songs are ok.
Performances:
Ashok Galla has a lot of energy; he is just okay looks wise. There is not much scope to perform, the comedy track makes it up covering his drawbacks. Heroine Nidhhi Agerwal has a limited role, and she is okay. Vennela Kishore’s role has nothing much to say. Comedian Satya is annoying in this film with his loud characterization. Jagapathi Babu’s double shaded role didn’t click
Positives
• Lighter vein theme with racy screenplay
• Two Songs
• Production Values
• Comedy in parts
Negatives
• Core plot is too simple to hold audience attention for 2 hours
• Loud scenes
Verdict
‘Hero’ is an over the top comedy movie. There isn’t much plot when the entire story can be broken down to – wanna-be hero, misdirected shipment, mafia entanglement. This film Sounds and looks silly- you may try it if you want some laughs and don’t mind the plot.
