The AP High Court suspended the AP Genco’s decision to cancel the agreement that was given to the Navayuga Company for constructing the Polavaram hydel power project during Chandrababu Regime. The court issued interim orders asking the YCP government to stop its reverse tendering process of cancelling past agreements and inviting new tenders afresh.
The Navayuga Company filed the court petition saying that their agreement was cancelled by the present government arbitrarily without even making clearing huge dues for past works. Even the Centre and the Polavaram Project Authority have objected to the re-tendering but the ruling YCP went ahead saying that it has got approval from the Modi-Shah duo.
Jagan reverse tendering is facing criticism from the TDP, BJP, Jana Sena and the Left parties. The rivals say that this is unilateral and retrograde decision by Jagan Circar without considering the viability of the process. Experts say that because of these court cases, there will be inordinate delay in the completion of Polavaram.
