Visakhapatnam : Confederation of Indian Industry’s 22nd edition of partnership summit kicked off in Visakhapatnam today in a spectacular ceremony.
The event, being organized in association with department of Industrial promotion of union ministry of commerce and government of Andhra Pradesh, was inaugurated by union finance minister Arun Jaitley. The summit is being organized to show case the investment opportunities in “Sunrise state of Andhra Pradesh” and during the three-day event it is expected that about 100 MoU worth Rs 2 lakh crore will be signed. Along with chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, union ministers Nirmala Sitaraman, Ashok Gajapatiraju, YS Choudary, several state ministers and CEO of dozens companies have participating in the event.

Addressing the gathering after inauguration, Arun Jaitley said government of India was now planning to launch ‘Stand UP India’ and this would be available to only two sections of Indian society, women and SC and ST entrepreneurs. ” It will be made mandatory for every branch of every public sector and private sector bank has to fund one SC, ST and woman entrepreneur,” he said. Appreciating the efforts of state government in achieving double digit growth rate, Jaitely said achieving 11 per cent growth with all it problems that cropped up after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was remarkable .
Chief minister Naidu made said Andhra Pradesh had kept all arrangements in place to ensure that all clearances were given 21 days . He invited the investors present in the event to avail advantages of and opportunities made available by the state and assist the state government in transforming Andhra Pradesh into number one state in India by 2029. He said the state had simplified industrial clearance process and all clearances would be given with a single application. ” Our objective is not only to see that Andhra is one among the three top industrialized states in India by 2022, but also to transform the state into a happiest place in India,” Naidu said.
He assured the investors that he would be available in Vizag for the next two days and would help clarify the doubts if they had any with regard to the investments. Naidu praised union commerce minister for Nirmala Sitaraman for her courage to organize the event in Vizag. Speaking at the inaugural event , Niramala Seetaraman said besides the natural advantages, the dynamic leadership of the state would be a boon to the prospective investors.

- Reliance ADA Group is expected to sign an MoU with the State Government to set up a Naval manufacturing establishment at Rambili. The company’s chief Anil Ambani announced an investment of over Rs. 5000 crore in state-of-the-art naval manufacturing facility.
