A three-member narcotic drug gang targeting corporate schools, engineering colleges, film industry and multi-national companies was busted by Special Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and prohibition department.
Calvin Mascrenhas, 29 was identified selling drugs on Dark Web who was detained by the police initially. Later, brothers Mohammed Abdul Quddus 20 and Mohammed Abdul Bahad, 29, were arrested.
Director of Enforcement Akun Sabharwal said that 700 dots of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) worth Rs 21 lakh, and 35 grams of Methyl Enedioxy Methamphetamine (MDMA), also known as Molly or Ecstacy was seized. One dot of LSD was sold for Rs 3000 while 1 gram of MDMA traded for Rs 4000.
The drugs were shipped from Chicago. A dot of LSD will give a 12-hour high said Akun Sabharwal. The police noted that a girl studying 9th standard sent a text message requesting for more of LSD. Officials have realized that Calvin communicated through Whatsapp message from a prominent film producer as well.
The trio were sent to police remanded for 14days. Officials have allegedly decided to send notices to the colleges, schools and companies which have links with Drugs mafia. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is set to be formed by the Excise Department.
The officials seized the cellphones and are allegedly planning to identify the drug addicts and send them to the rehabilitation center.
