About 1,500 delegates from 150 countries and territories are taking part in the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) here that began on Tuesday.
Ivanka Trump, adviser to and daughter of US President Donald Trump, headed the US delegation to the event, co-hosted by the US and India at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Hitec City. It will focus on women entrepreneurs.
Selected start-ups displayed their products at the lobby at the venue while digital displays spoke about India’s potential in various sectors.
A hoarding with Ivanka Trump’s picture and slogan of “When women succeed, we all succeed” was put on the approach road to the venue.
A few shops and hotels on the approach road to the event venue were shut by police and traffic to the neighbourhood was diverted.
This is the eighth GES which brings together entrepreneurs, investors and eco-system supporters for mentoring, networking and investment matchmaking. It is the first time the event is being held in South Asia.
