New Delhi: Reacting to the comments made by Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan in the Kakinada public meeting, Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said that some people are attempting to blame governments by making special status issue into a sensitive one. “I am answerable to people, I am not scared of anyone, only people who are aware of politics and facts could understand me well,” he said.
Speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Venkaiah Naidu said some leaders are coming forward with a wish list that the Modi government should fall or Chandrababu Naidu should fall, without taking the name of Pawan Kalyan. People are well aware of the BJP government’s commitment, he said.
The moment the NDA government took the reigns of the Centre, there was intense and in depth discussion on special status issue, he clarified. He said only after considerations of the NITI Ayog and 14th Finance Commission recommendations the Centre has arrived at a conclusion that special category is not common and allocated funds more than what the State would have get from the special status.
On Friday, Pawan Kalyan flayed the Centre for announcing special package. He termed the financial package as “rotten laddu” threw at the residual State of Andhra Pradesh after two and half years post bifurcation.
