Telangana IT minister and son of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today declared that he would resign from the cabinet if Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) failed to win majority the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election. Address the meet the press in Hyderabad this afternoon, he dared the opposition parties to would they do the same thing if they did win in the GHMC elections.
He said TRS was going to the polls with an objective of bagging 100 seats in the Corporation of 150 members.
He said the TRS would have no alliance with any political and it would go it alone in the Polls scheduled to be held on February 2, 2016. According to Ramarao, Congress would end up with not more than 10 seats, while MIM and BJP will be second and third positions respectively.
Daring that PCC president Uttamkumar Reddy and BJP president Kishan Reddy should respond to his challenge and come out with a statement that they should resign from their position if their parties were defeated.
Ridiculing the Congress statement Hyderabad had already become the global city in Congress regime, Ramarao said Hydebad become a global city when all needs of the people like water, roads, electricity were taken care of. “Now TRS government is struggling to provide water, lay new roads and supply power. We will do many things which the Congress and TDP could not do jointly in the past 50 years,” he said.
He dismissed the talk that he was aiming the post of chief minister. ” I have ambition to become the chief minister of the state. This minister post itself is a great boon for me. Responding to a question he said,” In Telangana chief minister is most glamorous and the party doesn’t need any hero in the party. We have no plan to rope in any movie star to campaign on behalf of TRS in GHMC elections.”
