Indian 2 is touted to be the sequel to Shankar and Kamal Hassan’s blockbuster vigilante thriller Bharateeyudu ( Indian). The principal shooting commenced in January this year. The project is constantly in news since its launch and the latest rumour in Tamil media is that Shankar has put the film on hold due to budget issues.
It is widely speculated that the makers of Indian 2 are apprehensive about the fact that Kamal Hassan’s current market doesn’t weigh on the budget that was projected by Shankar. It is a known fact that Kamal Hassan’s recent films failed to succeed at box office. So, they are not willing to pump in such lavish budget on the project. Further, it is rumoured that Shankar is planning a multi-starrer with Vijay and Vikram Kumar.
Though these rumours are rife in media circles, Shankar and team are very silent on them. There is no official statement about the progress of the project. Kamal is currently busy with his political commitments. It remains to be seen if the team responds on these rumours and comes up with a clarification to put an end to all speculations.
