The Bandra Family Court in Mumbai has officially ended the marriage between Team India cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma. The couple, who had been living separately since 2022, mutually agreed to part ways.
Reports suggest Chahal has agreed to pay Dhanashree an alimony of 4.75 crore rupees. Sources say he has already paid her nearly half of this amount (approximately 2.37 crore rupees).
The couple filed for divorce on February 5 this year. When they requested the family court to waive the mandatory six-month cooling period, their request was initially denied. Chahal’s lawyer then approached the Bombay High Court, which ruled in their favour, stating the cooling period wasn’t necessary since they had already been living separately since 2022.
Chahal and Dhanashree got married in 2020. Fans became suspicious when they unfollowed each other on social media platforms and when Dhanashree removed Chahal’s surname from her name. These actions sparked rumours about their separation, which have now been confirmed with their mutual consent divorce.
Dhanashree Verma is a prominent Indian choreographer and social media influencer, known for engaging dance performances and choreography. She gained significant popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic when she offered online dance classes, which attracted many followers, including cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, whom she later married.
Born in Dubai and raised in India, Dhanashree pursued a career in dentistry before transitioning to choreography. She holds a degree in dental surgery but chose to follow her passion for dance.
