Multi-talented Prabhu Deva – actor, dancer, choreographer, director has been honored with India’s fourth highest civilian award ‘Padma Shri’ on the eve of 70th Republic Day in the Department of Dance.
He has acted, danced, choreographed in several languages Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada. He has even won a couple of national awards for the best choreography for the year 1996 – Minsara Karuvu, with Kajol and Aravindha Swamy
, and one more in the year 2004 – Lakshya starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
Directed several films like ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana’ in Telugu,’Wanted’ in Hindi.
Prabhu Deva’s major break was ‘Kaadhalan’ which won 4 National awards and major platform to showcase his dancing moves in songs ‘Mukkabal’ and ‘Urvasi Urvasi’.
He started his career as choreographer from Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vetri Vizha’ in the year 1989.
He would be recieving the honorary award from the hands of President of India tomorrow.
