AP CM Chandrababu Naidu accused the Modi government at the centre of playing dirty politics in the country to create problems for rival parties. In Karnataka, the BJP is unfairly destabilising the JDS-Congress alliance government and there are also efforts to remove the government by dubious means. Naidu says PM Modi has become thoroughly unpopular for all his anti-people policies and India will see a new prime minister in the coming election.
The anti-BJP Unity rally in Kolkata has brought about unprecedented unity among the rival parties. The leaders of various regional parties have given a call for eliminating the Modi government as it is bringing in all types of unhealthy trends in the country’s politics. Like never before, the Modi-Shah duo have targetted the rival political leaders by forcing the officials of CBI, IT and ED to conduct raids on premises of opposition leaders.
Chandrababu’s comments on new PM assumed significance as he carefully avoided mention of any specific name as the non-BJP parties’ prime ministerial candidate as an alternative to Modi. The only challenge for opposition is bringing unity on their PM candidate. Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee are major contenders for this but finally non-BJP parties may agree upon their PM candidate finally after the general election based on number of MP seats they win.
