Ireland Telugu Association (ITA) celebrated Sri Dhurmukhi Nama Samvasatara ‘Ugadi Sambaralu 2016‘ on 9th April in Dublin, Ireland in Green Isle Hotel. This celebration marked the 10th year of the organization’s inception day in 2007. The inauguration of the program started with Lighting of Lamps, Prayer Song, Panchanga Sravanam and “Maa Telugu Talliki” song. Irish government officials and Indian Ambassador extended their support to the Telugu community needs and requirements.
Outstanding performances by 85 local children have exhibited true visibility and variedness of our Telugu culture. They performed Bhuvana Vijayam to Mayasabha, the old to latest Tollywood songs and classical Carnatic to Kuchipudi/Bharatnatyam. ITA ManaBadi students performed a drama detailing the significance of Ugadi Pachadi.
Famous cine playback singers Mano (Nagoor Babu) and Usha participated in the 10th Year celebrations of ITA. Both of them captured the hearts of 800 people with their variety of songs in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Telugu community in Ireland was excited to receive their loved singers in Ireland and they left Ireland with great sweet memories from the community in Ireland. Every Telugu speaking person who attended the program enjoyed every bit of each program and appreciated the first time visit of Mano and Usha to Ireland. All distinguished guests were felicitated with ITA mementoes.
The grand celebration was well organized by the Executive Committee (EC) members Sri Hanumantha Rao Marepalli (President), Sri Srinivasulu Thangella, Sri Kishore Tankala, Sri Vikranth Singampalli, Sri Surya Vanteddu, Sri Dr. Ramesh Babu Padamati, Smt Radha Kandraganti, Sri Durga Prasad Varanasi and Smt Sandhya Voona On the eve of 10th year of inception, Seven founding members and two ex-EC members were felicitated by the current EC team for their support and services to ITA.
The day-long event was ended with Sri Surya Vanteddu delivering Vote of Thanks on behalf of committee. Entire community enjoyed rich festive lunch and appreciated serving of traditional dishes Mirchi Bajji, Gutti Vankaya Kura, Mulukkada Sambaru, different types of Podulu, Gongura Pachadi, Avakaya, etc.
