Is Telangana CM KCR planning early elections again? Political watchers say that KCR is preparing to go for early elections just as he has done in 2018. Though the term of KCR 1.0 was to end in 2019, he advanced the polls by a year. In the 2018 elections, he has kept the opposition in a disarray and won a massive mandate. Sources say KCR is planning to do something similar this time too.
The rising tide of discontent against the KCR government, lack of employment, policy and administrative paralysis have crippled his government. The recent defeat in Huzurabad is a wakeup call for the TRS as the party had lost despite putting in place the Dalit Bandhu scheme and investing several hundreds of crores . Sources say that the defeat in Huzurabad has rankled KCR so much that he wants to arrest this tide. Now both the BJP and the Congress have gone ballistic and have been in an attack mode. KCR feels that whipping up anti-Central government fervor would be a better bet and this could help tide over the discontent.
Starting from December 19, KCR is set to begin a tour of all the districts. The target is to whip up anti-Centre and anti-Modi sentiments in the state. He will begin his tour with Wanaparthy. He will cover Nagarkurnool, Jagityal, Vikarabad and Nizamabad later. In all these days, he would inaugurate the collectorate buildings, lay stones for the lift irrigation projects and dedicate two-bedroom houses. Sources say that he might go for polls in the second half of 2022.
