Hyderabad: Speculation is rife over possibility of fielding YS Bharathi in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who has reportedly decided Kadapa MP constituency for his wife Bharathi, as per unconfirmed reports.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is fielding Adinarayana Reddy from Kadapa Parliamentary constituency. Adinarayana Reddy, who won on YSRCP ticket from Jammalamadugu constituency, but later defected to the TDP and now, he’s a Cabinet minister.s
Adinarayana Reddy is facing a rough weather in Jammalamadugu Assembly constituency and his rival P Ramasubba Reddy is a tough candidate now. Ramasubba Reddy lost to Adinarayana Reddy in 2014 elections in Jammalamadugu.
After joining TDP, Adinarayana Reddy and Ramasubba Reddy continued to be rivals in Jammalamadugu constituency. Despite several efforts by AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, there’s no improvement in relations between both the leaders.
Hence, Chandrababu Naidu has suggested Adinarayana Reddy to contest from Kadapa Parliamentary constituency. Naidu strategized this as a win-win situation for both of them. Adinarayana Reddy is is the only candidate, who can give a tough fight to YSRCP in Kadapa, while leaving a comfortable space in Jammalamadugu constituency for Ramasubba Reddy.
Sitting MP in Kadapa is YSRCP’s Y Avinash Reddy, who resigned from his post in support of Special Category Status (SCS), will have to sweat it out against Adinarayana Reddy. This is the rationale in choosing YS Bharathi as Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, observe political analysts.
Without taking any sort of risk, precisely this is why Jagan prefers to field YS Bharathi as a strategic move.
If YS Bharathi contests from Kadapa constituency, local voters naturally support her, feels the political analyst.
