Janepalli Srinivasa Rao, the main and only accused in ‘Kodi Kathi’ murder attempt case, once again said he attacked Jaganmohan Reddy only to create a sympathy wave to get victory for YCP in coming AP election. Reportedly Srinivasa Rao told officials of National Investigation Agency (NIA) that he had a liking for YCP and he wanted that party to win the election. The NIA officials questioned him on a variety of aspects and videographed everything.
The NIA officials also asked whether Srinivasa Rao had no idea that there would be a strong security force surrounding Opposition leader Jagan. They tried to get information on how long the accused person was carrying the knife with him and how he could smuggle into the high security airport premises which is guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Srinivasa Rao has said nothing new in the NIA investigation. He wrote a long letter in jail and this is taken by the NIA officials. From the beginning, Srinivasa Rao has maintained he had not intention to murder Jagan but just that he wanted to create a sensation all over the state. The case reached the NIA following the YCP leaders making complaints at the national level that there was a conspiracy by the ruling TDP on the life of Jaganmohan Reddy. The YCP criticised the AP police for dismissing conspiracy theory in the case.
