Some ministers in Andhra Pradesh are facing severe opposition from the former ministers of the ruling YSR Congress. Though the former ministers say that they have faith in the leadership of Jaganmohan Reddy, some of them are giving tough fights to the new ministers.
The squabbles have come to the fore in Nellore district, where former minister Anil Kumar Yadav held a rival meeting in the town at the time when Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy is given reception by his supporters. Anil Kumar Yadav is all set to give tough time to the Minister in the district politics in the days to come.
Even as the party high command heaved a sigh of relief from the Nellore squabbles, a similar situation was reported from Prakasam district. Former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy is now fighting an unseen battle against Minister Adimulapu Suresh. Though both of them were ministers in the previous cabinet, Jaganmohan Reddy dropped Balineni and retained Suresh which intensified the squabbles.
Jaganmohan Reddy held a meeting with Balineni and pacified him after the cabinet rejig. However, Balineni is upset with two reasons – his removal from the cabinet and the continuation of his rival Suresh in the cabinet. Though Jaganmohan Reddy had asked Balineni to take care of the party work in Prakasham and Bapatla districts, he is not ready to share the dais with Minister Suresh.
In Krishna and NTR district, senior leaders like K P Saradhi and Samineni Udaya Bhanu are disappointed with the denial of cabinet berths for them. While Saradhi is not venting his anger openly, Udaya Bhanu accuses some leaders who blocked his way to the cabinet. Minister Jogi Ramesh had personally met Udaya Bhanu and sought his support. Another former minister Kodali Nani too is said to be upset for denying representation to the Kamma community in the new cabinet.
Another former minister Mekathoti Sucharitha is still to come to terms with her removal from the cabinet. She met the chief minister early last week and is said to be unavailable for the party workers in her constituency in Guntur district.
Avanthi Srinivas, who was dropped from the cabinet, is also not seen in the past one week. He is not available to the media and it is not known how he would react once the dust settles down.
It is to be seen how the party leadership would handle the growing discontentment in the party, particularly after the cabinet rejig. Besides chief minister
