While Andhra Pradesh government could not fill a single vacancy in the state government in the past 22 months, Telangana, which has already launched a massive recruitment spree for engineers, constables, group-II officials, is now getting ready to recruit teachers in a big way. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is said to have instructed the education department to initiate the process of filling the vacancies in the government schools across the state before commencement of next academic year. According to sources in the education department, there are about 15,000 clear vacancies in the schools in the state. Another 5000 vacancies are expected to arise in the next couple of months due to retirement of teachers and rationalization of teaching posts.
This is the fall out of Chief Minister KCR emphasis on providing quality education in the state. Since the standards of schools can’t be improved without appointing adequate number of teachers. So, education minister Kadiaym Sri Hari asked department officials to expedite the process of recruitment. All district education officers have been asked to report the existing vacancies and the vacancies likely to arise before the end of current academic year.
In the meantime, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that Mission Bhagiratha would provide jobs to local youth with ITI certificate. ” All the works like pipeline fitting, connecting of water pipelines should be give the local fitters with ITI certificates,” the CM announced yesterday while reviewing the works of Mission Bhagiratha. Besides using the services local engineering students, the CM said the government would ensure that the local fitters get the jobs first. He also asked the ministers, collectors and officials to take steps in that direction.
