Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and senior TDP leader, B S Narasimhulu, known as Dorababu, on Wednesday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, being head of the State, is expected to safeguard the properties of the dairies owned by the Government and do justice to the dairy farmers is shamelessly acting as the brand ambassador for the Gujarat-based Amul Dairy.
Talking to media persons through Zoom, Dorababu said Jagan is scared of the pending cases against him and thus mortgaged the dairy industry to Amul company. It is atrocious that the dairy farms in Ongole and Chittoor districts were ruined only for the sake of the Amul company.
“Why were the cooperative dairy farms literally handed over to Amul,” he asked and said that the TDP strongly opposes the handing over of the most popular Chittoor Dairy Farm to an unknown industry. The total value of the properties of the Chittoor Dairy which is extended in 25 acres is Rs 350 cr and it has chilling centres at V Kota, Madanapalle, Peeler, Kalahasti and Pitchatur and Jagan should tell the public as to why this most popular dairy farm was handed over to an unknown industry, he said.
Pointing out that Jagan, during his pada yatra, has promised to safeguard the whole dairy industry in the State besides reopening the farms that were closed, Dorababu said that after coming to power he cheated the dairy farmers and is protecting the Amul industry. Jagan, who is supposed to be the brand ambassador for Vijaya Dairy turned as brand ambassador of Amul, he remarked.
The Gujarat-based businessmen are looting the dairy industry in the State, Dorababu said and demanded that the Chief Minister, at least now, do justice to the dairy farmers in the State.
