YSRCP chief and AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday opendly admitted on the floor of the Legislative Assembly that Sakshi newspaper publishes wrong news.
Interestingly, Sakshi was owned and launched by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, when his father late YSR was CM in 2008. Jagan’s wife Bharathi is now running Sakshi since Jagan went to Chanchalguda jail in 2012 in disproportionate assets case.
When opposition TDP MLAs raised the issue of Jagan going back on supplying “Sanna Biyyam” (superfine rice) to ration card holders in the state, Jagan shot back saying that he never promised to give sanna biyyam and he only promised to give “naanyamaina biyyam” (quality rice).
When TDP members showed him Sakshi newspapers which carried a news report on Jagan’s statement on sanna biyyam, Jagan said Sakshi published wrong news without knowing the difference between sanna biyyam and naanyamaina biyyam.
This attracted the criticism of TDP MLAs who said Jagan’s comments clearly proved that Sakshi is a newspaper which only publishes wrong news, which they have been stating for long.
They said Jagan’s comments on Sakshi endorsed TDP’s views on Sakshi.
This has put not only YSRCP members in the Assembly in an embarrassing situation but also Sakshi newspaper.
Who will believe Sakshi news reports from tomorrow if the owner himself admits that it publishes wrong news?
