There is a well-established government set-up to advise and execute the policies. But AP Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has appointed a large number of Advisors. They are being paid huge salaries from out of public money. Now, Jagan national media advisor Devulapalli Amar is being given Rs. 4 lakh per month. All this money gets transferred to his bank account. He need not come to AP Secretariat. He can remain in Hyderabad and enjoy all benefits.
This trend of advisors was begun in Telugu politics by Jagan’s father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He brought in KVP Ramachandra Rao as his government advisor. Now, Jagan is taking so many advisors like Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, GVD Krishna Mohan and so on. These advisors are being paid hefty amounts.
Reports from Secretariat say that the AP government is paying nearly Rs. 4 crore for all these advisors put together. Employees are discussing about how these advisors are getting more salaries than even Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries and senior IAS officers. It all shows how CM Jagan is wasting public money though he claims to take just Re. 1 salary per month.
