Till now, AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is maintaining a mysterious silence on Amaravati while his Ministers and MLAs are creating confusing statements on Capital City shifting. The moment has come when Jagan can no longer escape from revealing his plans in this regard. The AP High Court has ordered the government to explain its stand on the Swiss Challenge policy that was adopted for taking up Amaravati construction works.
Jagan Circar will have no option now but to clarify whether it is in favour of Swiss Challenge or not. Till now, the government has not officially announced its stand considering Jagan’s promise during his pre-election Padayatra not to shift Capital from Amaravati. There are rumours that YCP Regime is not interested in completing the huge towers and it is also not interested in continuing Capital in Amaravati.
Amid these rumours, HC bench consisting of acting Chief Justice C. Praveen Kumar and Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy issued orders for giving clarity on Amaravati Swiss Challenge. The court was hearing petitions filed in the past by several intellectuals including Ex Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao opposing Swiss Challenge. This is a method adopted by Switzerland which gives chances to contractors to change their bids and stay in competition till announcement of final bidder. There will be zero scope for the government to collude with contractors as it is transparent.
