The Jaganmohan Reddy government is not paying a single rupee of pending dues for programmes completed under the previous Chandrababu Regime. Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), the Centre released Rs 1845 Cr to for works finished prior to 2019 election. AP Government should add its share to this and pay the poor beneficiaries.
But the ruling YCP is not taking any action in this regard. TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu demanded CM Jagan to clear the dues to rural labourers several times but there is no action. Now, Naidu wrote a letter to Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Thomar asking him to interfere and ensure justice to the poor people in AP. Naidu told the Union Minister that CM Jagan is deliberately diverting Rs 1845 Cr already released by the Centre.
The Modi government has already started its attack on Jagan Circar for its negative attitude on PPAs and Polavaram project. The pending funds of NREGS would give another reason for the Centre to embarrass Jagan even more.
