YSR Congress Party original founder is one person called Shivakumar who is a die-hard fan of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The actual name of the party is Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Later, Jaganmohan Reddy took away this title from Shivakumar and became its president. But Shivakumar was allowed to remain just as a member of the YCP. Many changes have taken place in the past five years but there are no issues between them.
But in 2018 Telangana elections, Shivakumar campaigned against TRS party and KCR’s leadership. This started differences and earned the wrath of Jaganmohan Reddy. This eventually led to Jagan expelling Shivakumar from the YCP. The incident became a hot topic within the YCP internal circles. Jagan had taken his decision without considering the consequences of straightaway expelling the party founder.
Angry over this turn of events, Shivakumar complained to the Election Commission of India that he was illegally and unjustly expelled from the party. He reminded the ECI that he was the party founder and nobody has a right to remove his membership of the party. The election authorities issued a notice to Jagan to give his explanation.
