Beleaguered opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy is planning to meet Assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasadarao soon to lodge a complaint against the five MLAs who quit the party to join TDP a couple of days ago. Bhuma Nagireddy, Akhila Priya, Jallel Khan, C Adinarayana Reddy and Jayaramulu quit YSRCP and joined TDP in the past one week.
He will seek action against these MLAs under the provisions of Anti-defection law ie disqualification.
Party sources said he is expected to meet the speaker on February 29. After returning from Kadapa tour, Jagan is holding an emergency meeting of all MLAs. He has asked all the MLAs to come to Lotus pond office to discuss the next course of action. The meeting is taking place amid the talk that TDP is targeting few more MLAs from Kadapa district as well as some senior leaders. The talk is that even Dr MV Mysoora Reddy is also being wooed by the TDP. Party sources said Jagan is planning to have a free and frank discussion with the MLAs to know the real reason behind the decision of the MLAs to leave the party. He is said to have cautioned the MLAs against falling prey to the designs of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu. He is also said to have warned them that TDP president would simply marginalize them in the party in due course and the much talked about development of constituency was only a myth.
Some in the party consider Jaganmohan Reddy’s supercilious behavior was responsible for the MLAs to look at the TDP as the right destination. ” Jagan has never allowed MLAs comer nearer to him. He never interacted with the MLAs. The only connection between the MLAs and his office is a phone call to inform them that Jagan want’s to visit their areas and make arrangements. Beyond this there has been no relationship between the party president and MLAs. He never thought of having a friendly relationship which his father used to maintain with MLAs. Many MLA are scared of Jagan’s meetings. Many pray to god in their heart of hearts that Jagan should not visit their areas,” said a YSRC leader connected to Lotus Pond, the office come residence in Hyderabad.
” The MLAs were not bothered about what would happen in future . The assurances from TDP general secretary Lokesh and CM Naidu are enough for them to reassure that their political interests would be taken care of. The principal grievance among the YSRCP MLAs was that Jgan was highly inaccessible and their exists no verbal communication between Jagan and 90 pc of MLAs. The bond that ties the MLAs to Lotus Pond was very weak and chief minister Naidu discovered that it was very easy to snap it,” the sources said.
All MLAs have grievances against Jagan. Would there be a free and frank discussion in Friday’s meeting between Jagan and his MLAs so that Jagan could mend his ways? Many in YSRCP are skeptical of the outcome.
