The leader of opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy seems to be impatient to be in opposition. Besides his pro-active approach in exposing `failures’ and `anti-people policies’ of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chadnrababu Naidu, always he is predicting that TDP regimes days are numbered. On several occasions, he asserts Naidu’s government may not last for long and mid-term polls are inevitable.
Just yesterday, he expressed his strong desire that “with the grace of God elections might be held within a year,” and appealed to the people to pray to Almighty to `end the ‘evil’ rule of Naidu.
By interacting with families of farmers, who were opposing the land acquisition for construction of Machilipatnam Port in Krishna district, he again sounded optimistic on coming to power in the state. Even if his desire of mid-term polls not fulfilled, he expressed confidence that “the ruling TDP government would last for only two years and we will come to power in 2019.”
In recent times, wherever he goes he is just asking people “wait for two more years to get rid of TDP regime. He even making promises that he will `undo’ some of drastic steps being taken by TDP government.
During his stir against land pooling for Amaravati capital region, he promised displaced farmers that he would be coming to power soon and will return their lands. In Machilipatnam also, he promised farmers that he would acquire only 5,200 acres for the port, as per the plan of the previous Congress government and will put TDP’s efforts to acquire 1.05 lakh acres.
Since formation of party, after coming out from Congress, he him-self projecting as `chief minister-in-waiting’. After his failed attempt to attain power in 2014 polls, he was worried that he missed the chance to occupy his father’s chair by a narrow margin.
Within six months of 2014 polls, after visiting a Sadhu in Prakasam district, who had reportedly predicted fall of Chadnrababu Naidu’s regime within three years, Reddy announced at a public meeting in Kurnool he would be coming to power in three years.
