The AP Chief Minister’s Office has announced CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s Delhi tour but it has kept the agenda a closely-guarded secret. The CM will be meeting Prime Minister Modi and Union Ministers if they give appointments. It’s clear from this that there are no prior appointments confirmed. Previously also, AP CM made one such unplanned visit to Delhi. He waited for two days but he couldn’t get an appointment with Modi. Jagan had a very brief meeting with Amit Shah at that time and he couldn’t raise the issues in detail as it Shah was in the midst of his birthday celebrations.
This time, Jagan is hopeful of getting a decent chance to meet Modi-Shah as they would remain available in Delhi for the ongoing Parliament session. It’s obvious that AP CM is eager and even anxious to repair his strained relations with the Central Government. Is he really serious in his efforts to revive good old relations with the BJP? Both Jagan and Vijayasai Reddy always ignored BJP AP leaders thinking their good contacts with BJP national leaders would be enough. This attitude has caused big damage. YCP is now considered as a threat because of allegations of religious conversions. It complicated matters as Modi already was unhappy over cancellation of PPAs. Certainly, Jagan is making last-ditch efforts to prevent further damage. Especially, when there are rumours going round about his CBI Rs 43,000 Cr illegal assets cases.
