AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy instructed the officials of Capital Region Development Authority to start and complete the pending works in Amaravati capital region. CM held a review meeting with CRDA officials in the wake of the Central government’s approval to Amaravati as Capital City of AP. Jagan gave mixed signals to the officials. He asked them to take up works on pending projects but at the same time he did not give green signal to works on Secretariat, Assembly, High Court and other important constructions. The final decision on these landmark buildings would be taken only based on the GN Rao Experts Committee which is expected to submit its report soon.
On the other hand, Jagan Reddy gave go-ahead to the construction of Happynest residential project. He, however, asked the officials to take it up under reverse tendering. It is now clear that Jagan has decided to complete the non-administrative constructions in Amaravati area. Apparently, this is to give an impression that he is not totally going against the Central government’s sentiment at present. Analysts say that Jagan Circar may however shift some crucial wings of administration to different areas in the name of decentralised development.
