Enthused by the huge response from the ‘public’ for his campaign against chef minister N Chandrababu Naidu as ‘leader without character and credibility’, Leader of Opposition in Assembly and president of YSRC YS Jaganmohan Reddy is planning to carry forward his attack in a campaign mode by addressing eight meetings in Andhra Pradesh.
According to YSRC party sources, Jagan is planning to run the campaign in eight Assembly segments, where his own MLAs switched over to ruling Telugu Desam Party , which he alleged under the influence of allurements-huge money and positions.
This campaign, yet to be given a name, would include tendering apology to the people of these constituencies, for nominating candidates without ‘character and credibility’ and for urging them to vote for these candidates in 2014 elections.
“Jagan will tender apology in a public meeting to the people for campaigning for selfish and corrupt candidates. He will thank the people for reposing faith in the party even in the face of money being spent by the Telugu Desam president Chandrababu Naidu like water. Jagan will assure them that he would take extra precaution in nominating candidates with character and credibility from YSRC in future elections- either bielection or general election,” a close aide of Jagan told telugu360.com.
In the recent past eight MLAs, Bhuma Nagireddy (Nandyala), Akhila Priya( Allagadda), C Adinayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu), Jaleel Khan(Vijayawada), T Jayaramulu (Badvel), P David Raju ( Yerragondapalem), M Mani Gandhi( Kodumur), and KV Ramana Murthy ( Patapatnam) ditched Jagan and joined Telugu Desam Party.
The opposition leader is going to address public meeting in all these constituencies, basically to expose Naidu as a ‘man without character and credibility’. The object is two-fold-exposing chief minister Naidu’s corruption and the creating scare among those who are thinking of ditching the party, the sources added.
” It is well-known secret that the CM has offered them huge money – running into crores. The CM is resorting to corruption in every project from Amaravati, Pattiseema to all irrigation projects and other units. He is using the money to buy these MLAs. The cash-for- vote scam sting conducted by Telangana CID had thoroughly exposed Naidu. Our party president wants to create awareness of large scale corruption CM Naidu practicing in the name of world-class capital and development,” the sources said.
According to the sources, Jagan’s campaign against Naidu as a ‘man without character and credibility’, launched in Nellore three days back, was well received. Even TDP also got scared of the impact of the campaign. CM Naidu had to ask all the cabinet minister to respond to the criticism. So, YSRC President Jagan is thinking of carrying forward the campaign against Naidu, which is different from earlier campaigns like lands, bauxite etc, said.
The dates of the public meetings in Nandyala, Allagadda, Jammalamadugu, Badvel, Vijayawada, Yerragonda Palem, Patapatnam, Kodumuru will be announced after budget session.
