AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy is highlighting his rule as the only one in the whole of India to pursue pro-poor policies despite the countless hurdles lying in its path. He has responded on the criticism against the proposed re-tendering for Polavaram and reviewing of PPAs. He said that so many non-sensical arguments are being made but his government is boldly continuing these people-centric programmes.
In the past few days, the Polavaram Project Authority, the TDP, the Japanese government and so many players have criticised Jagan Regime on Polavaram, PPAs, welfare programmes, etc. Jagan has raised this issue indirectly in his Independence Day speech. He asserted that despite all these hurdles, his government is moving ahead to root out corruption and save the public money for their own welfare cash transfer benefits.
There’s speculation that Jagan is looking for alternative sources of income even if the Centre doesn’t come forward to fund his welfare programmes. YCP boss has decided to implement all those costly Navaratnalu promises though it leaves his government with no funds to take up development projects.
