After a long gap Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy has revived his Special Category Status(SCS) movement with a Yuva Bheri, a meeting of youth, at Kakinada on Wednesday. YSR Congress has used the SCS issue to attack TDP government which thinks the there are more benefits to the state outside the SCS. But, YSR Congress believes, the state has no future if the special status as assured by the union government at the time of passage of AP Reorganization Act in 2014 is not accoreded. Jagan organized youth and students meetings at Tirupati and Vizag early last year. He organized a day long sit-in in-front of Parliament near Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Later, the opposition leader sat on a indefinite fast but could not continue it as the police foiled it by shifting him to the hospital and feeding forcibly on October 13, 2015. Since then the SCS movement has been on back burner. Now, Jagan, by organizing a youth meeting at Kakinada, wants to revive the movement.
After interacting with youth, Jagan will address a public meeting in the afternoon.
