The opposition Telugu Desam Party is stepping up its attack on the ruling YCP much earlier than expected. Originally, they planned to wait for six months and then criticise. But in the face of non-stop targetting by YCP in various aspects, the TDP has begun implementing a policy of ‘offence is best form of defence’. TDP says that Jagan’s rule so far has stood for attacks, atrocities and demolitions without any sign of its commitment for future development.
Telugu Yuvata state president Devineni Avinash has said that there is a general sense of fear and concern among the people now that Andhra Pradesh may not have good future in the hands of Jagan. The voters have given a massive mandate and landslide victory to the YCP but the ruling party leaders are misusing it at every step.
Avinash recalled that in his election campaign, Jaganmohan Reddy held out huge promise of Rajanna Rajyam but instead, he has been encouraging his party leaders and activists to attack opposition. In just one month of this rule, nearly 150 attacks were made by YCP on the TDP leaders in the state. The gang-rape of a minor girl in Ongole and the demolition of Praja Vedika built by Chandrababu Naidu are some of the examples of deteriorating situation in the state under the present regime.
