AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday sacked IRS officer J Krishna Kishore, who was known to be the favourite officer of previous CM N Chandrababu Naidu.
Naidu appointed J Krishna Kishore as the CEO of the AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) for a three-year term in January 2018.
He was specifically chosen by Naidu to attract foreign investments into AP.
Following Jagan’s orders, the AP government on Thursday issued a GO suspending J Krishna Kishore, IRS, with immediate effect, who is on deputation to state government. He was suspended for alleged irregularities and corruption in giving approvals to industries.
The orders stated that he shall continue to be under suspension in public interest until the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings.
The government directed Director General, ACB and Director General, CID to register a case against him, investigate into the irregularities and take necessary action within six months.
The orders further stated that during the period for which this suspension remains in force, the headquarters of Krishna Kishore shall be Amaravati and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the competent authority.
Naidu has set up APEDB Board with an aim to attract investments and improving ease of doing business in AP.
CM is the Chairman of the board. The main objective of the AEDB is to ensure ease of doing business in the state and to make it the number one destination for investments. The state is seeking to achieve double digit growth. The board will be a single stop for investors in the state.
