YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy today announced that former Congress minister Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy’s son Kasu Mahesh Reddy will contest from Gurazala constituency in the forthcoming assembly elections. Welcoming him into the party at a largely attended public meeting held this evening in Narasaraopet, he is hopeful that with his arrival the party would be strengthened in this area.
Former Congress minister Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy’s son, Mahesh Reddy joined YSRCP in his presence. Last week he resigned from Congress party. He was PCC General Secretary.
Refuting speculations that Mahesh joining the party would create confusion in Narasaraopet by destabilising the sitting party MLA G Srinivasa Reddy, Jaganmohan Reddy said there is clarity in the party. Assuring that Srinivasa Reddy would continue in Narasaropet, he said Mahesh would goes to Gurazala.
With regard to two-term MLA from Gurazala and party’s senior leader Janga Krishna Murthy, the leader of opposition has indicated that he would be inducted into his cabinet after forming government making him as MLC. “Within six months of coming to power he would be besides me in the government”, he added.
Coming heavily on the misrule of Chandrababu Naidu, he said that the people are ready to throw him out whenever elections are held. They were desperate due to failure of implementing poll promises like waiver of crop and Dwacra group loans, besides job to every hour or unemployment allowance.
Accusing that the Chief Minister is unable to question the Centre on according special status to the state, YSRCP chief said that Naidu was terrified with Prime Minister Narendra Modi fearing that CBI probe would be initiated against his corrupt practices. Andhra Pradesh is now considered as the Number One in corrupt practices, he said.
