It’s well said that the first impression is the best impression. Beneficiaries of government pensions eagerly wanted CM Jaganmohan Reddy to make the best impression on his day of swearing-in. They had great expectations on Rs 1000 increase in pensions and sanction of benefits to women under Navaratnalu promises.
Jagan announced only Rs 250 increase in elders’ pensions. Now they will get Rs 2250 from June. No announcement was made on the pensions for widows and handicapped persons. Most women voters watched Jagan swearing-in speech with great expectations. Navaratnalu promised financial assistance Rs 75,000 each to women aged 45 years and above under YSR Cheyutha.
Now, elders and rural voters are asking whether they will get full benefits under Navaratnalu promises. They are asking why elders pensions are not hiked to Rs. 3,000. Many are saying that they will wait and watch for six months. It seems ruling party leaders will face angry voters sooner than later.
