Jaganmohan Reddy’s interviews to national media sparked angry reactions. TDP National Spokesman Lanka Dinakar dismissed as ‘baseless and hypothetical’ Jaganmohan Reddy’s statement that everything is against the Telugu Desam Party in the present 2019 election in AP. Out of sheer desperation, Jagan is trying to spread misinformation that the TDP came to power in 2014 with just 1 per cent vote percentage and with everything turning its favour at that time.
Mr Dinakar said that Jagan had stooped to low levels in politics by making false comparisons between 2014 and 2019 elections. Truly speaking, the TDP is contesting the present election on a lot of positive factors like Naidu’s development-centric rule, anti-BJP sentiment, weak opposition leader with criminal record, pro-TDP sentiment among women beneficiaries, etc.
Mr Dinakar said that the TDP had faced a much tougher election in 2014 as it was not in power for over 10 preceding years, YCP had YSR sentiment, murder of Paritala Ravindra, state reorganization issues and so on. The TDP allied with the BJP at that time expecting its support on bifurcation promises. About 15 assembly segments and 4 Lok Sabha constituencies were given to BJP. Dinakar said that Jagan is not giving these details while saying that TDP won in 2014 with just 1 per cent vote more when compared with the YCP.
